Welcome to Blue Pearl Cottage, a lovely, sunny beach house, just minutes from fabulous beaches, wildlife and the quaint downtown of Chincoteague. This airy cottage has a large wrap-around deck, a screened porch , with all of the amenities of home. Naturalists will love the wildlife – spot hawks and hummingbirds from the deck. It has three bedrooms and two baths, tasteful furnishings, hardwood floors throughout. Wander to the end of the road to reach Assateague Channel, with views over the marsh to the lighthouse. A short drive or bike ride away is Assateague Island, designated as a national seashore and completely undeveloped. The island offers unparalleled opportunities to swim, sunbathe, hike, bike, fish, go crabbing, and surf. If you keep your eye on the sea, you might see dolphins breaching the water as they feed or magnificent brown pelicans skimming across the waves. A small bridge connects the island to Chincoteague. Back at Blue Pearl; relax on the porch or in the large garden playing croquet and ball games. If you're looking for a peaceful beach cottage for a romantic getaway or family vacation, you'll enjoy Blue Pearl. The charming town has a wide variety of locally-owned restaurants, shops, ice cream parlors, activities for children, and even a newly emerging art scene. If you like boardwalks, loud crowds, traffic jams or high rises, then Chincoteague is not for you. Please note the house does have a ramp but you also have to go up several steps to get into the house.

This house is NOT PET FRIENDLY. THIS HOME DOES NOT PROVIDE LINENS AND TOWELS. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN OR CALL US TO RENT THEM.

Cancellations made 30 days prior to arrival will receive 100% of refund  of all monies minus $ 39 Processing Fee and Any Credit Card Convenience Fees Paid.  If less then 30 days: the advanced rent is only refundable subject to the following: The property is re-rented for the same period. Re-rental of less than a full week will be refunded on a pro-rated basis. The Agent will retain a $39.00 processing charge and any convenience fees charged. *Deposits are not refunded for ANY reason (including bad weather).

  Upon arrival to the home, we saw that the sheets and towels we had paid to rent were not there. There was also approx 1 roll of toilet paper for 4 people (2 toilets) for 4 days. When I called the rental place, they informed me that we were to supply our own TP. Really?? She claimed it was in the contract which I did not see. I was informed the rented towels & sheets were forgotten and we had to go back and pick them up. The receptionist was on the phone with a customer. Instead of asking the person on the phone to hold on for 30 seconds until she handed us our towels, sheets and TP, she went into great detail on the phone for 15 min(I timed it). She was very rude when we finally "excuse us but..." The home itself was easy to find and clean. Unfortunately, the lot next door was a swamp which had a million small mosquitos? which invaded the home or car within 2.5 seconds. The screened in porch was a blessing and kept you safe from them. The coffee pot on the 2nd day of a 3 night stay gave only a small amount of sludge. While the home itself was nice and clean, I am not sure when vacationing, that I want to have to supply my own TP, so I will be sure to look for that clause in the future.

  Our stay in Chincoteague was great. Home was comfortable. Had everything we needed. Location was perfect. Easy to get around. Quiet location.
  Only thing needed was some type of window blind for the large front and side windows. The windows are large and with the lights on at night passerby’s can view inside.
  The Village Restaurant was excellent for seafood. The Island Creamery had amazing ice cream..
  We did drive the hour to the Maryland entrance of the Assateague National Seashore to view the Pony’s. Saw many more there, up close. They are allowed to roam freely there.
  Also the NASA museum was worth a few hours and it was free.
  Would recommend area for a nice getaway.
  Was not very busy in late May. Not buggy yet.

  Good communication from the realtor on arrival and departure instructions. The home was well equipped with your basic needs in the kitchen. The view of the wildlife in the yard was exceptional to watch. The family of deer was an added plus! Comfortable bedding and spacious. The only complaint is the AC unit was acceptable for late August, but if temperatures rises above 90 degrees the house would not be cool. The temperature control could not be lowered past the required set point. Overall, I would recommend this home to others and would stay again in early June or late August.

We got some problem with the fridge and the freezer during our stay, wich was took in charge by the location company, wasn’t really fun too deal with but we are statisfied how Harbor took it in charge.   conveniently located with short drives to downtown Chincoteague, restaurants, Assateague, NASA Wallops Museum, etc. Quiet private wooded lot with screened porch.   We had a great time at blue pearl cottage. The house is cute, with everything we needed. The furniture have a lot of cachet, the decoration is charming, however the kitchen could benefit for some update. But for the price it was totally ok.
  We especially appreciate the screened porch, as the house is located in a shadowed area, by the swamps, so surrounded by mosquitoes. We have been able to enjoy nice evenings.
  Overall the house cleaning was ok (kitchen and bathroom) but a lot of dog hair were spread on the terrace, and inside the house. It was also a little dusty. Forks and knives were not clean, we hat to wash them all again.

  The Blue Pearl Cottage was the perfect retreat for us. We brought our dog along and it worked out great. The screened porch was a nice place to relax and the interior mid century modern furnishings were nostalgic and comfortable. The cottage was very pleasant for a relaxed weekend. No major frills but just what we needed. It was just the two of us and our dog but a family of six would have plenty of space. Harbour Rentals were great to work with and we will use them again!

  This was our 2nd stay @ this lovely location. As always Harbor Rentals had everything clean, tidy and ready for us and the kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to enjoy some good seafood meals! The only negatives, The furniture could use some help, the kitchen chairs are a bit rickety, not very sturdy and the living room furniture is not very comfortable for relaxing/lounging on after a full day of fun in the sun...or a rainy day. Window coverings on the front windows would really be nice too since after dark you can see everything in the house from the street.

  Love, Love, Love the house and its amenities. Great Location!! Close to everything. Our only issue was with the window coverings or lack their of. Nothing on the front windows...fine during the day but when lights are on inside at night with no curtains you are exposed to the world. ALSO the master BDR and the one across the hall are exposed to a motion detection light from a neighbor and the venation blinds do NOT BLOCK the blinking light nor the sunrise in the morning, it streams in the Master BDR & bath windows in the rear of the house. Making it hard to sleep-in on vacation. All this being said...WE LOVED STAYING AT THE BLUE PERAL COTTAGE! We will return again....and again!

  The house is exactly as described. It was very clean and in good condition. A/C was perfect. The neighborhood is very quiet. Also very convenient to everything on the island. Living room furniture could use a bit of an update but no big deal don’t spend most of the time in the house anyway. We spent extra time there since we were there during the tropical storm coming through. Love the beach here. Everybody was social distancing. Everyone was Social distancing In lines where we were. In the grocery stores, takeout lines and anywhere else people need to be practicing it. Not having a dishwasher was no big deal for us. They have a charcoal grill, coals and lighter fluid provided. I haven’t cooked on one of those in a long time but boy the food was excellent that we made on it. Enjoyed the screened in porch in the evenings. Management answered a few questions we did have quickly and completely. I would recommend this property to friends or relatives. It was just so good to get away and enjoy the beach here after being cooped up in the house for months. We actually canceled a different beach location in another state because people were not following rules. But again here everybody was respecting each other.

  We were very pleased with the Blue Pearl Cottage on Chincoteague Island. The rooms were spacious and the place was well kept. The screened in porch was comfortable. Make sure you bring plenty of bug spray as the mosquitoes are quite plentiful at this location.

  This is a very well laid out comfortable home. The large enclosed porch is an excellent way to experience the outdoors without being eaten up. At the same time the central air conditioning is very quiet and comfortable. We would say however some of the interior furnishing could use some updating. The futon should be replaced with a real bed that would fit in the room, and one of the two twin bed mattresses needs replacing. The living room furniture is also less than optimal. The owner should throw in a gas grill that would be nice to have. If possible a dishwasher should be installed, but it’s not a dealbreaker.The location has a lot going for it, being a nice looking block and well located.

  The home was lovely the only thing missing was a nice television. The living room set was very small and it would not have mattered except for the evening when you want to relax. The one bedroom with the futon would have been nice if it was also a bed for 2 adults. I would still recommend this home to my friends just plan on it sleeping 4 adults and 2 children. This home is cozy and I would love to return again! My husband wants to book for 2020!
