  The rental was a cozy little cottage. We have been coming to Chincoteague for roughly 50 years. This is the first time in quite awhile just my wife and I. The cottage was perfect size. Barbour rentals has always treated us very nicely and professionally, we will be back.

  I believe this was my 4th or 5th stay at Cattail Cottage. A good friend stayed with me, and the set up with the new bathroom was ideal in that we did not disturb each other. I slept on the pull out sofa in the back room and was able to spread out my work on the table and work at my computer without disturbing Jane who slept in the bed room. I love everything about this cottage!!!

  Love this cottage, everything about it! Was happy to see that my suggestion that a light be installed over the sink was acted upon! I had a minor issue (a problem with the TV) for which I contacted the owner who was very gracious. The problem cleared itself up.

  Stayed at Cattail Cottaage with my husband. It's small but was perfect for just the two of us. The bed was one of the most comfortable vacation home beds I've experienced! The location was great. It's an easy walk to Mr. Whippy and Island Creamery. Happy we discovered this renovated little cottage.

  This is a welcoming and terrific little rental with a real five-star feel. The rehab of the original cottage is tight and solidly accomplished and the resultant living space is practical and accommodating. The appliances and amenities provided are perfectly adequate. An exterior keyed lock on the sliding side door would be a useful addition. The neighborhood is quiet and private. The owner's passion for the ponies is evident and centers one's visit on Chincoteague Island life. The cattails were in prodigious display this year.

  Stayed here in Jan of 2022 before the renovation which was so beautifully done! Love the barn door and the vanity with all the storage. Love being able to spread out on the the big table to work. Being able to walk to town and to Maddox in a few minutes is a huge plus. Love the cottage furnishings and all the little finishes which makes it so homey and welcoming.
  The only suggestion I have, which I mentioned after last stay, was to have a light installed over the sink so that you are not in shadow when working at sink or counters.

  So cozy and well-furnished and decorated. Love the sleeping options and the back room with all the light and the large table. Lots of storage space despite not having closet available. Nice out of the way location on Grumpy's Lane. Pleased that owners will be putting in second full bathroom and washer/dryer. The kitchen needs a light over the sink and counters since fixture is in middle of ceiling and throws shadows.

  A really nice house for a couples getaway or small family with young kids. House is off street in a quiet location and has updated furnishings. Location is central to the shopping on Main St. and attractions on Maddox Blvd. Wife and I had a very relaxed off-season long weekend. Hiked all the trails, with no mosquitos, and had the beach almost to ourselves. This is a house we would use again.

  The Cattail Cottage appears to be a new rental property. It is freshly renovated with new furniture, which was a very pleasant surprise. The cottage is small and would be great for a couple or a family of three or four (two adults and two small kids), but I wouldn’t recommend it for more than three adults (although it can sleep 6 people as advertised). Note: there is no dryer or dryer rack in the house. If it is raining, the outdoor clothesline may not get you towels dry.

  Spacious layout with large addition/family room was great for meals and board games. Our stay coincided with a tropical storm and tornado which was weathered just fine in this house. We greatly appreciated the rental company’s updates on weather/ island conditions/ power outages. Very nice and attentive staff. Property was very clean with updated appliances.
