The newly added, fenced in back yard is the perfect place for your small dog to relax in the sun.. Please ask about our cancelation policy. 60 day cancellation prior to occupancy date (100% refund minus processing fee, travel insurance and credit card fee's). Pet friendly home $75.00 (per pet) fee will be added to your reservation. **New additions coming for 2023 to include a 12x12 screened in porch. This home will also be providing linens and towels**

  The house was perfect for our family. I did have a few issues that were small. 1st is the broken blinds. Over half the slats are off the blinds. We have the same set at home and they can break easily. A set of curtains would be a simple fix. My son woke up in the middle of the night and had a hard time falling back to sleep because he was afraid someone was watching him.
  Other thing was the drawers were silverware was in were dirty.
  The remotes batteries were dead upstairs so I took batteries out of our TV for kids to use. (we brought a TV for the bedroom.)

  This is such a charming little cottage. We loved the screened in back porch that really added to the living space. The fenced in back yard was perfect for our dogs. The property backs up to a marsh where you can watch egrets fly in. Be fore warned that the mosquitoes in the backyard as well as the entire island are bad. If bringing your dogs make sure they are on appropriate heartworm medication.They do spray but it doesn't seem to make a difference.You will have to drive to get anywhere from this property as it sits near the end of a road with narrow berms. But there is a lot of things to do within about 15 mile distance. I recommend if you goal is to see the ponies up close and personal that you drive the hour to the MD side of Assateague Island. Because of the differences in herd management you will not see any ponies up close on the VA side and, in fact, one herd is fenced off where you can not see them at all from any public roads. I also recommend checking out the NASA Visitors center. It's not very big but a good waste of a couple hours, especially on a rainy day.

  We have stayed in this home for several years now, and despite changing owners 2years ago, it has always been very clean and well maintained. We're so happy they have kept it pet friendly, it has a lovely fenced in grass yard. Our pups love it. We love this house, feels like our home away from home at the beach.   Wow. Fell in love with this adorable cottage as soon as I pulled in the driveway. Peaceful and quiet. Awesome location - close enough to everything but far enough away to enjoy the island's natural peaceful tranquility. Perfect size for me and my two small dogs. The house was immaculately clean upon arrival and had everything we needed. My fur babies loved the fenced in yard and the deck. The bed was super comfortable. At times, we didn't even need the air conditioner (which worked perfectly) - with the cool breezes off the bay, we just opened up all the windows and let in the cool, salt air. We caught some beautiful sunsets from the deck. The neighbors were very friendly and welcoming. Especially the lovely, senior lady who lives next door who has been an island resident since she was 16. Loved hearing her stories about the island and the history of some of the neighboring houses (one was floated over from the old Assateague village). So thankful the owners and rental company have kept the rental rate for this one affordable for us working folks. Harbor Rentals were a pleasure to work with and were even able to extend a late check-out. Always professional and friendly. I've been visiting the island annually for more than 40 years. Egret's Walk is by far my favorite cottage rental. Hoping to return many times to this "slice of heaven on Chincoteague".

  Very nice small cottage on quiet street, an arterial but not much traffic on it. You will need a car to go to restaurants and shopping but an easy and short drive. The cottage was very clean and worked perfectly for my wife and me, both seniors. It took us awhile to get the correct WiFi password but contacted the office and sorted it all out - double check that to be sure you have the right one. Nice upstairs with beds but for younger types, in our opinion. We had our dog, who loved the fenced in back yard. Overall, a very nice experience at a fair price.

  The cottage was perfect for my me, my husband and two furbabies. We celebrated our 38th wedding anniversary and Thanksgiving on the island. The cottage was everything we needed for a three day stay. It was clean, well maintained; good location; great customer service from Harbour Rentals; went out of her way to find us a place for our furbabies. Yes I would recommend to family or friends. We went to Gary Howard Seafood and purchased fresh flounder (freshest ever) a bag of oyster and bag of clams and ste at home and it was the best; enjoyed the open roads at Assateague Wildlife Refuge on Thanksgiving Day and the visitor center; ate pizza and subs at the Famous (which is great by the way). We rode to
  Saxis to check out the small quaint fishing village and took lots of pictures on our trip.

  Very nice vacation home, house was great, loved the outside shower and so did the kids. Great when coming home from the beach. Another great plus was it is pet friendly!   Our family has been staying at Egret's Walk for at least 8 years now. We really enjoy vacationing here each year. There were some minor mechanical issues. The TV upstairs did not work and there were a few light bulbs that were not operating. Other than this, an excellent property to stay at. We will be back next year.
