  This place is so adorable! We loved our stay here and our time in Chincoteague. The house is very clean and roomy - we loved having the entire upstairs loft to ourselves with the kids downstairs. The kitchen was spacious and allowed us to cook with ease. The outdoor enclosed porch is super cute. It's slightly off the main road, and private tucked back by the bay. We watched the sunset every night! If you have a kayak, there is a tiny trail to follow to the bay and you can launch a kayak from there. Bike riding to shops or the beach or park is doable and easy. Our favorite spots are Ledo's Pizza, the taco truck, the farm market, the water park, and both Mr. Whippy and Island Creamery. There are adorable shops along Mattox and Main Sts.
  
  Suggestions for improvement: There were some clogged drains that need attention, and the outside of the house and landscape were in dire need of some love - the lawn hadn't been mowed and there were a lot of overgrown bushes and weeds that distracted from the beauty and charm of this otherwise sweet place. The sweet little sign that reads "Winder Station" needs a little paint. That said, we still loved it and would return.

  Wonderful, clean house slightly tucked back from the bayfront. Bedrooms have been updated with 2 queen sized beds and one full. Ideal layout for maximum porch enjoyment. Minimal carpet which was excellent for the dog. Expansive kitchen layout for meal prep. All in all, a quiet property away from the bustle of Maddox and downtown.

  Well, if it had been 50% less cost, especially in November, then all would be ok- it's rustic & charming, at best.

  Love the house. A few recommendations. In the first floor bath there should be grab bars in and outside the tub. It would've been nice to have some decent deck furniture--all the broken stuff was pathetic. In fact, all the broken stuff in the house needs to be pitched. Most important--UPGRADE ALL MATTRESSES!! Do this and the house will be wonderful.

  House was clean and did not smell, kitchen is decently stocked but the pots and pans are pretty beat up. The furniture inside is over-kill with too much stuff packed into tight spaces, ironically the outside furniture is lacking and the house could have used more placed to sit on the deck. If the owners read these reviews please consider removing some of the living room furniture (both downstairs and upstairs) so that people can move more easily around the space.

  HI,
  There is a mold problem at this home. There is mold growing on the wall behind the couch in the living room and perhaps elsewhere. You need ServPro or someone like that to come in and do mitigation, otherwise I could not recommend it to a friend and will not be using it until this is taken care of. Great location. Rooms are quiet. Quit street. High ceilings. Great kitchen.
  Also, some windows do not have screens, so could not get cross ventilation in house.
  Staff is very professional and friendly. I hope the owners will support taking care of the mold problem.

  The house was perfect for our stay with dogs. The house had some great views (especially from the second floor Primary). The house could have used more outdoor furniture on the deck and backyard. Also, the access to the water is a narrow path to a sliver of water. Its great for launching kayaks but you can't really hang out there. The area the house is in also does not have sidewalks that connect to downtown so it makes walking pretty difficult. We'd most likely stay again though.

  We’ve visited the island several times over the past several years. We love the island and have nothing negative to say about Harbour rentals. The home was clean and as others have stated a bit over crowded with furniture but not so much so to keep us from enjoying our vacation. The deck is a bit weathered and most outdoor furniture was broken but we made do. Overall a nice home with lots of room to spread out. Was a plus for us that they allow pets.

  We had a relaxing time in our vacation. The house was nicely decorated inside, with antique furniture which was a nice change from all the white and wicker at most beach houses. The outside of the house could use some updates, and the lawn was overgrown when we arrived, but it was mowed in the middle of the week. The internet was shut off, but a quick phone call to the realtor had it back on in 30 minutes. Overall, a very nice stay.

  Needs some TLC, nice location, uncomfortable beds, but it had plenty of room for our week stay. Whoever owns this home needs to put some money back in it to make it safer, Mold in bathrooms and a piece of railing missing from second story deck that has a panel in place held by ropes and a bungee cord!!! Beware if considering this house and you have children that are going to stay with you! We thankfully were all adults because nobody warned me of these hazards!

  The location is grand. Some water access for my kayak and we had some good clamming at the property. When we moved in, it was evident the cleaning crew were not the best and the previous guests were not concerned with leaving the stove, dishware utensils etc put away, and dirty. The coffee maker leaked all over the counter. I purchased a new one. Don't expect to have any decent cookware either. The decking needs to be replaced. Sliding door doesn't lock, used a piece of wood to lock it. We've stayed in much better places on the Island, in the same price range, but there are those sunsets. . .

  This house nicely accommodated 4 adults and 4 young children. The views of Chincoteague Bay from the deck were gorgeous. The 2nd floor suite provides a panoramic view of the water and is truly a great plus for the house. The beds were comfortable and the area, overall, was quiet, since it's near the Northern end of Main St. The kitchen was adequately outfitted with cookware, cutlery, dishes, etc. All the appliances worked The can opener didn't work. I bought a quality new one at the hardware store and the price will be refunded with my deposit. Unfortunately, this house suffers from neglect. A dining room chair was broken. No cushions were provided for the plastic Adirondack chairs or for the plastic "rattan" chairs in the screened in porch, making it uncomfortable to sit on them. The outdoor shower was a mess; my husband cleaned and organized the space, but why should he have to do it? The deck needs to be replaced! Boards are sticking up and one board on the deck is rotted. The railing section at the end of the deck had fallen off. The "fix" was to roped another section of railing to the existing anchor posts. What if a child had disobeyed and leaned on it or played with it? Dangerous! There are sumac trees encroaching on the driveway by the garage door. Why don't the lawn maintenance people see to that? Spartina grass has nearly taken over the access to the water. The owners of the house next door complained that Spartina was to be cut down completely instead of a narrow footpath. I would rate this house 8/10 because of the neglect.

  The house was nice, but pricey for a four day off-season rental in a remote area. We paid $1200 total for four nights. Despite this, we were expected to bring all sheets, blankets & pillows and were asked to sweep and vacuum all floors. No water access except narrow dirt path to marsh and no dock. House had good sunset views and was quaint. No cable for network channels, ESPN, etc.

  Though not exactly waterfront, we had a nice view of the bay especially from the second floor living area. The home was nice and clean and had a homey feel. We enjoyed the sunsets and family time. One bedroom was rather tight, but we made it work. Loved the open floor plan and spacious kitchen. The rental company is a dream to work with. We're grateful for all involved for sharing their space and talents so we could have quality family time. Though covid set its limits, we had great takeout and never felt unsafe on the island. An air of care and thoughtfulness for everyone's well being made us feel comfortable and stress faded. Thanks to our home away from home and our Chincoteague friends.

  We had a lovely stay at winder station which is nestled in between a few houses off of main street on chinc-o-teague. The house is thoughtfully decorated and very comfortable. A good place for people with pets and pepper who don't mind being in a house that has pets. We used the path to the Bay to launch our canoe. The property has water access but isn't right on the Bay. A fenced in yard would have made the experience perfect.

  Accurate description. Great location (4), was water view which was sufficient with Hurricane Dorian's visit. Smaller bedrooms. I loved this cozy home. Nice, fairly private deck with picnic table and screened porch facing the Chincoteague Bay (5). Spotlessly clean and well maintained (5). Management interface was very professional and friendly (5). They had linens and towels in the house awaiting our arrival (5). Sufficient for six people. We had four.

  We absolutely loved our stay at Windsor Station. The house was clean and bright and much bigger in person. The second floor had sweeping breathtaking views that were loved by the humans and canines! Our little 2 year old dog spent hours watching the seagulls and and water from the windows upstairs. We couldn't have been happier with the location and ease of getting around town from our home.

  I rented this house for myself, my three children and our dog, there was enough space for us, it was clean and the water pressure and air conditioning were good and the beds were comfortable. However the kitchen didn't have a single good frying pan. The outside shower was disgusting, dirty and without a door or curtain. The "water access" really means they've mowed a tiny path to the water but I didn't see how you could launch a kayak canoe or anything else there, fish or even sit near the water. It also has houses on all sides so although the picture makes it appear solitary it is not. Overall the house was fine but I would not rent it again.

  We absolutely loved our stay at Winder Station! Beautiful location, peaceful, pet friendly home with gorgeous view of the Chincoteague channel. Winder Station is on the north end of the island and offers guests a clean, comfortable, quiet getaway. The house is beautiful, with lots of windows and light, and a large, spacious deck and small but cozy screened porch area. The decor includes fun, funky, furnishings, vintage pieces and wall art, and fascinating thrift/antique store finds. The upstairs master has a large, comfortable,separate seating area with views of the channel, private full bath, and flatscreen tv. The two main floor bedrooms are small, but comfortable, and were fine for our kids. We were very happy with check-in checkout process, and received our security deposit in a timely manner, in the first week of the following month. All in all a no-stress retreat. Highly recommend!
