  We have been coming several years in the fall. Have stayed in many homes and Sandy moose, (once you're inside :)) is Is truly a home away from home.
  
  Spacious living space and open view to the water Begs for you to linger and listen send. This quiet corner of the island is ripe with wildlife. This year's visit we had deer Fox black squirrel and of course geese.
  
  The kitchen is a well equipped dream with many wih small appliances provided.
  Master suite is also a major highlight.
  *I love the look, feel,and security of the stilted house, but Have learned to strategize my move in and move out as well as my trips during the day.

  This was our third year renting this house. Overall it is a clean, comfortable property. There were two issues this year that I hope will be addressed for 2023. They dishwasher wouldn't close and couldn't be used. It was not properly installed and has gotten worse each year. Also, the cold water valve in the outdoor shower is frozen and wasn't fixed during our stay. A missing pipe plug was replaced so the water could go through the shower head. We would have preferred that the dishwasher be replaced during our stay but there were issues with contractor.

  Sandy Moose was a great place to stay and enjoy Chincoteague. Loved the furniture/decorations and screened in sunporch. Only thing to tweak would be the front door, which stuck a lot - needed a major shove to open, or close.

  Was super happy to find a location that could rent midweek and not just a weekend check in. Property was in a good location, very comfortable. Only thing I missed was having a Keurig in the kitchen. Other than that, it was great.

  We enjoyed our stay at Sandy Moose. Clean, well stocked, comfortable beds, great game console, plenty of seating, large and well organized kitchen (all the small appliances you needed including 2 coffee makers).
  The screened porch was beautiful but the patio furniture wasn't very comfortable. The wonderful view of the pond and birds made up for the furniture. The driveway is single laned as we all drove from different states in different cars there was a lot of juggling cars whenever anyone went out. A side parking area or turnaround would have been nice.
  Great stay would definitely go again.

  We loved the layout of this home! As someone who's in charge of and enjoys doing the cooking, the kitchen was spacious and well equipped.
  The screened in porch was a haven for morning yoga and afternoon coffee. The floor-plan offered and easy fellowship privacy of the master bedroom. Quiet lot and street were another bonus.

  Sandy Moose has a well-stocked kitchen and plenty on entertainment in the home for rainy days or after-beach hours. I was pleasantly surprised with the number of kid things in the home and loved that there were a couple of stools available so my little guy could reach the bathroom sinks. The mattresses were really comfortable and we appreciated the ceiling fans throughout the home and on the screened porch. We found that on the really hot days (over 90F) we needed to turn the AC up to around 75F mid-day to prevent it freezing up. Overall, we were really happy to be at Sandy Moose and back in Chincoteague after several years away.

  We were pleased with our experience in renting the Sandy Moose, located on a small lagoon that attracted many water birds like egrets, geese, ducks and many more that we looked up in the bird guides under the coffee table. We enjoyed sitting on the back porch in mornings to soak up the early sun from the east. We were pleased to find all the cooking tools needed because we enjoy home cooked meals. There were also plenty of books, videos, and TV's to keep us entertained when we were not in the Assateague Park which is just a five minute ride away. The five days we stayed are not enough to take full advantage of what this house, Chincoteague and Assateague have to offer. I think a full month might be better.

  The Sandy Moose is a second home to me. Plenty of space for a family of 4-5. I stayed there alone for work for most of my visit. My family was able to come see me for a week, and they loved the house. Driveway is narrow, so learn to reverse a trailer before coming if you bring your boat. The area is quiet, with only the occasional lost tourists during the busy season. The view from the living room is amazing. Wall to wall glass from the dining area, to the fireplace. It's not on the bay, but there is a pond providing plenty of relaxing looks at wildlife such as geese, ducks, sea fowl, and in the summer, deer. The rear deck is nicely screened to prevent intrusion of the VA state birds, with ceiling fans for comfort. The pictures need to be updated, as there is now additional seating in the livingroom, and a 55" television. The arcade was a big hit with all the guests, providing retro games from comadore64 all the way to playstation. Beds are comfy, linens were plentiful, as well as towels. All necessary dishes, pans, etc are there. Apliances are nice. They include, large microwave, glasstop range with oven, toaster oven (perfect for reheating pizza) ample fridge storage, coffee maker, blender, etc. The finishes in the home are classy. No cheap materials in the kitchen, nice quarts countertops, recessed sink, tile floors. Hardwood laminate throughout the rest of the house for easy cleaning. The utility closet has all the essentials for an extended stay, including a small vacuum that makes tidying up the floor easy. The management company is great, keeping grounds maintained, and attentive to requests. Overall, there was no better value than the Sandy Moose.

  So, I could write this review in one sentence which says it all. I would rent this property again and to be honest I don't often feel that way. The property has such a peacefulness and openness about it. The pics don't really give you the feeling that sitting on the porch and looking at the water gives 's nearly perfect. I spend a lot of time trying to pick the perfect place as I've rented many many a beach house in my day. The porch is fantastic and frankly that is the most important part of any house as I just enjoy sitting and chilling. Esp. in both the morning and night. The other surprise was the inside had a bright feeling(kitchen renovated) and I also cook on vacation so that is a help-to have somewhere pleasant to cook. We came with another couple and they too were in love with the place! The only down side for me was the bed in the master was too soft. But that happens nearly everywhere. Not sure why someone wants a soft mattress but that's just personal I guess. Only reasons for 4 stars and not 5. At any rate, I highly recommend this place. It was just lovely. BTW, the front porch is also much bigger than the picture reads. Is it necessary? No, but I love porches. Add a ceiling fan on the front porch then I'd be sitting there to. OH one more nice detail. The master bed and bath are on one side of the house and the other two on the other side with a large space dividing the sleeping areas. It has a very separate feeling which is nice if you're traveling with other adults. Again, you kinda gotta see the space to know what I mean. Pics don't do it justice. Funny, bc often it's the other way around. Meaning pics look great but doesn't match up to reality. Lastly, which maybe should have put this first- the bird viewing is incredible. I had no idea. I don't consider myself a bird person type but that place changed that for me and I'm not overstating I don't think so. Enough! Great place.
