Turn of the Creek is the perfect spot for those who love to kayak! Beautiful views of Eel Creek and the Marshes that surround it. The property has great outside space from the screen porch, upstairs sun deck to the dock that is perfect for crabbing or just relaxing.   Turn of the Creek was one of the better equipped kitchens of other vacation rentals in the past. Very comfortable, relaxing, delightful pier extending into the tidal marshes (altho difficult to get in and out of our kayaks from the pier). We don't use AC, so more screens on windows would be appreciated, but we spent many hours reading on the screened back porch both before and after our daily bike rides to the beach. VERY quiet and good neighbors. Highly recommend. A sprayer on the end of hose would be nice for cleaning off sand before entering the house.

  My sister and I decided to take my granddaughter to our childhood vacation spot this year which was Chincoteague Island. The only difference from then and now was we rented a home, (not camping) which was Turn of the Creek. We couldn't have asked for a better place. It was quiet and had its own dock on the bay water. Very clean and within walking distance to shopping and eating if you didn't want to drive. The beach is only a few minutes away by way of car. We were very pleased and would definitely recommend it to anyone who is planning on going there!

  Adorable cottage in a quiet neighborhood with wonderful views of the creek , the marsh and the waterfowl. Nice decor! Step-in shower in the master suite. Very private feel. Loved the pier and rooftop deck, but the screened porch offered a fun outdoor space even during a rainshower. Would love to stay there again.

  The location is everything here - close enough to walk to nearby restaurants and shops but with a fabulous view from the back of the house.
  
  Kitchen is adequate if you’re making very simple food but not much equipment. Rest of the house is reasonably furnished, good wifiz
  
  We had issues with rented towels and sheets not being in the house when we arrived and they are pretty poor quality.
  
  I’ve never been asked to vacuum a holiday home at the end of my stay and usually go on holiday to avoid that sort of thing... and with the rugs they have here it’s not a fun FLS to attempt!

  Turn of the Creek is a little gem! Calling to mind the "Ramble On" lyrics, "Thanks... for such a pleasant stay," the cottage is just right for a couple, all the requisite amenities, and the site is really ideal, a perfect distance from the beach for biking and walking, to kayaking or crabbing or bird watching from the dock, to milky way immersion and shooting star gazing, and just catching the breeze at anytime on the rooftop deck -- we had a truly wonderfully thoroughly enjoyable week. Much obliged!

  We very much enjoyed the location and layout of the house. Although the weather was a little rainy and windy at times, the multiple spots (dining room, porches, dock) to enjoy watching the marsh and creek made it still enjoyable even when indoors. The very good (fresh) fish market is close by, and it's just a few minutes drive or bike to the Refuge, which was the reason we came. The kitchen had almost everything we needed, and the furniture was comfortable. I would definitely consider renting here again in the future.
  
  These things would be helpful to add to your information about this rental.
  - Information on how to use the gas fireplace (there was none and it would have been nice on the very rainy first day)
  - clarity on whether it is ok to use the kayaks that are there
  - a larger hot water tank. (Showers had to be quick not to run out of hot water.)
  - Making clear that during Covid times, one should bring dish towels and bath mats as well as sheets and towels.

  We rent a house on the island several times a year and have yet to rent the same house twice. While we adore staying in different locations every time, this house may be the exception. It has a lovely marsh view and a good lay out. It is close to town but set in a quiet neighborhood so the best of both worlds. The kitchen is well appointed (even has a knife sharpener!) and the house has a cozy airy feel. Can't wait to drink my morning coffee on the upper deck while watching the sunrise over the marsh again!

  This was a cute house with all of the boxes we needed. We loved the surprise of the kayaks, my husband in particular. I always love when there is a screened in porch, so I can enjoy nature without bugs and bees. And the roof top porch was really nice for star gazing one clear evening.

  The house was very clean and kitchen was well stocked with the exception of coffee filters.
  We were required to bring all towels and linens which we were fine with but would not work if flying. Asked to vacuum, and take trash to dump sure. Dump site not clear on location. Not marked at all,
  The dryer was not seeming to dry so I opened lint trap and four inches of lint. Hadn't been cleaned in ??? Fire hazard!!
  Power went out the day before we were to check out. Fireplace would not light.. it got extremely cold but fortunately just my husband and I. Called rental agency nobody showed up by the next day when we had to check out. Very cold shower.
  So we vacuumed, took trash to dump(?), no heat. Place was left spotless. Had to give $400 deposit which we did get back. But seriously a tip envelope for doing what? Should provide appropriate coffee filters as guests have no way of knowing what type they would need until they get there.
  Cottage was very nice but the rental company could use some improvements.

  Looking for a view? Turn of the Creek has that and so much more. The pier and dock (loaded with shell pieces from the gulls feasting), the creek and the surrounding marsh come with herring gulls, egrets, herons, mallards and assorted other ducks and birds. If you want to see more, the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge is five minutes away by bike or car where the resident ponies graze and coastal wildlife abounds.
  
  The view is the prize, but the house is complete with all you will need: easy parking, all kitchen appliances, washer and dryer, cozy queen bed or two twins. The WIFI is fast and reliable and we enjoyed the easy cable television service. Some perks for us were the inviting propane fireplace, great hot water with good pressure, and the screen porch which was great on the few warm days. And you can leave your extension cords at home. There are more outlets here than I have seen in any rental!
  
  Turn of the Creek was our home away from home from Jan-March 2021, and it met our needs perfectly.

  This place was wonderful in many ways. The house feels isolated because it is on a creek surrounded by marsh and birds, but in reality it is less than a 10 minutes walk to restaurants and a pharmacy. While small, the house is very comfortable with good sitting space both inside and out. Plus the wifi was strong enough for me to work.
